The Archer is an Infantry unit in American Conquest, recruitable by all American native factions. They are trained at the Barracks, the Fortress the Wigwam of the Hunters, or the Town. The Sioux can recruit a mounted version of the archer at their stables.

Accuracy[edit | edit source]

The Accuarcy of archers is typically very low but can be increased by Conduct practice shoot to make them easier to use.

Flaming Arrows[edit | edit source]

Despite some archers having more flaming arrow damage than others, the conditions for a building to catch fire by archers always remains the same.

For a building to catch fire it has to be hit by a fixed amount of flaming arrows from any source that is defined by a buildings' flame resistance value. Thus, the flaming arrow value of archers is not as important as it may seem. If the building is upgraded with building durability, only the base damage of flaming arrows gets reduced but the building will still catch fire after its flame resistance is reduced to <0.

Incan Archer[edit | edit source]

The Incas have the most well-rounded archer unit due to their increased rate of fire, base accuracy and above-average range compared to other archers. Additionally, the Inca's version of Conduct practice shoot is greatly reduced in cost which gives them access to high-quality archers very early on in the game.
